How We Met
Karen and I met September, 9th 2005. I remember this because it was my last day in town after quitting my job as senior technician at Terranovus.net, and taking a job as an assistant manager down in West Palm Beach. I was given a farewell party from my job at Don Jose Restaurant which I encouraged a former employee of Terranovus and friend to "crash", but he couldn't because he had to work at the local movie theater. After the party I stopped by and saw him at his work, and he introduced me to Karen and Mandy, two girls he worked with at his new job he was just starting at the local newspaper. I was immediately interested in Karen, I found it hard to believe that there was a cute girl in this town I didn't know, who liked the Boston Red Sox and had a sense of humor. It made me sad knowing I wasn't going to have the time to get to know her because I was moving the next day.
A few months later when things didn't work out down in West Palm, I came back and got a job at the same newspaper, and started hanging out with Joe, Karen, and Mandy on a fairly regular basis. We hung out and watched movies and TV shows, we went to nickel beer night at the local saloon, we had a lot of fun as a group. At this point after getting to know her, I was even more interested in Karen than I was on initial meeting, and I worked hard to further our friendship to the point where we started to hang out without the rest of the group. I confessed my feelings for Karen early in, and she didn't feel the same way. So we continued to be just friends, and as time went by, walls fell down. It didn't take long before we became very close friends, and I was just happy to have her in my life.
